El Amoroso

If you're cruising around Los Angeles and craving something hearty and full of flavor, El Amoroso on Fletcher Drive is worth a stop. Nestled at 2829 Fletcher Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90039, this casual spot brings a comforting Latin-American vibe that locals love—and newcomers quickly become loyal to.

The atmosphere at El Amoroso hits that perfect middle ground: laid-back with just enough energy to make it feel alive. It's kid-friendly, welcoming to your four-legged pals, and ideal for small groups catching up over a solid meal. The noise level? Just moderate—so yes, you can actually hear your friends talk.

Now let’s talk food—because that’s where El Amoroso really shines. Whether you're into classic Salvadoran dishes or looking for rich, homestyle Mexican comfort, they've got you covered. Popular picks include the Caldo De Res O De Pollo, perfect for those chillier LA days, and the Carnitas—juicy, tender, and seasoned just right.

For something with a little more variety, you can’t go wrong with the combo of Un Chile Relleno De Queso Y Un Taco De Pollo. It’s cheesy, spicy, and absolutely satisfying. And if you're in the mood for something deeply savory, the Carne Guisada Plate delivers that slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth experience you didn’t know you needed.

Just warm dishes served with care in a space that feels like your favorite neighborhood gathering spot. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick bite or settling in with friends, this place makes it easy to stay a while.

Authentic restaurant recommended by Salvadorans with speedy service. Casual ambiance with brightly painted murals on the walls and plenty of tv screens. The food tastes authentic, homemade and delicious. The pupusas, yucca frita con chicharrón, carne guisado, and the pastelitos de carne are worth ordering. Parking is limited.

I've been coming here for several years. They have excellent pupusas. Not greasy. Good masa to filling ratio. Very good curtido (pickled cabbage ) to go with the pupusas. When it's cold out, I enjoy their elote atole ( sweet corn gruel beverage). The chicken soup is excellent; served Salvadoreño style with grilled chicken on the side and a bowl of rice. Many of the waitstaff have worked here for several years. They are professional and attentive. Writing this review makes me want to drop by for lunch!

I had no idea this was the sister restaurant to the one down the street, El Buen Gusto, until I saw the menu and asked to confirm. Family run Mexican and Salvadoran restaurant with delicious authentic and traditional meals. I always get their pupusas and carnitas and they don't disappoint. Sometimes I order a 32 oz to go cup of refried beans because they're so good. I bet they use the lard from the carnitas; delicious!!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Wow! This reminded me of my mom's home cooking! The food was amazing! Taste was perfection! I had the carne guisada plate, my wife had the Salpicón with casamiento and the kids had pupusas! All had authentic Salvadoran flavor. I'm from the SGV but definitely would return. The service was great minus a little glitch with a pupusa we ordered! Overall the place was great! Prices were reasonable and enjoyed the vibe and colors of the place! Reminded me of the culture and ambiance! Will say loved the refrescos de Cevada and Ensalada típico drinks of El Salvador!
